Our Lenses
Our lenses are made from CR-39 (Columbia Resin No. 39), the highest quality polymer available, renowned for its exceptional optical properties. Originally developed in the 1940s by Columbia Corporation for the US Air Force, CR-39 quickly became the industry standard for high-performance resin lenses due to its lightweight comfort, impact resistance, and superior optical clarity. CR-39 is known for its exceptional abrasion resistance, offering the highest scratch resistance among uncoated optical plastics. Unlike glass, it can withstand exposure to small hot sparks from welding without damage. Additionally, CR-39 can endure continuous use at temperatures up to 100°C and short-term exposure up to 130°C for up to one hour, making it highly durable under varying conditions. This material's combination of durability and visual excellence makes it ideal for providing dependable eye protection without sacrificing style or comfort.

Using a spectrometer to measure wavelengths, we can demonstrate how effective our glasses are at filtering harmful light. In the first image, you can see the light spectrum of a standard LED screen with high spikes in blue and green light, the proportion of light that becomes harmful after sunset. In the second image, the same screen is measured through our Night Time lens, eliminating the spikes in blue and green light entirely. This demonstrates how our advanced lens technology effectively filters out these wavelengths up to 550nm, ensuring a healthier and more comfortable experience in environments dominated by artificial light.
